We should all pursue things we're passionate about. Yet in terms of becoming an entrepreneur, especially a first-time business owner, should it really matter if you 'love' the concept?

Here's the truth that most would-be business owners don't realize: It makes no difference how cool you think an idea is.

What matters is how profitable the idea is.

Because to be an entrepreneur, you have to put food on the table. You need reliable income streams. That should come first.

It's what separates those who become successfully self-employed and financially independent from those who just had a really interesting idea.
